cultivated citrus, hybrid character, Nicolás MonardesAbstract
The translation into Castilian, with notes, of a scarcely known text on citrus by the Sevillian physician Nicolas Monardes is offered for the first time, as well as the critical edition of the original text in Latin, first published in Seville about 1540. The importance of the text lies in that is pointed out in it the hybrid character of the citrus, a fact not proved up to the end of the twentieth century.
