From doctors of lunatics to doctors of the sane. The transition from the lunatic asylum to the consulting room in pre-war psychiatry (1890-1939)

This article analyzes the emergence of psychiatric consultancy since the crisis of the moral model. The corporative variables and the contextualization of the phenomenon are explored, as wee as the influences of psychoanalytic and neurological paradigms, and the introduction of therapeutic technology in psychiatric institutions.
