Abstract

Graells's contribution to the history of Malacology, his Catálogo de los Moluscos terrestes y de agua dulce observados en España y descripción y notas de algunas especies nuevas o poco conocidas del mismo país, is the first synthesis by a Spanish author on the subject dealing with the whole of continental Spain and the Balearic Islands. He described several new species, some of which have been included in the synonym of species known previously. The name of some of the species discussed has been abandoned, while for other cases his description remains valid.
