Abstract


By the end of XIX century the museums of natural history grew and they were diversified in Latin America, participating in the «movement of museums». In that context the influence of William Flower is here analyzed and the new museum idea, in the initial conformation of the Museum of La Plata (Provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina).
