Theological-Literary Discourses on the nature da sexuality are compared and contrasted taking as a starting point the letter to king Manuel de Pêro Vaz de Caminha, João de Barros Diálogo da viciosa vergonha, the theatre of José de Anchieta and others who moralize the passions either in the name of the culture which they represent, or in their own name, as being in some way involved in the passions scene. The moralization of natural feelings of shame is seen as a way of reinventing the body and of controlling passionate contagion.
