Between 1862 and 1864 Lamarck's works were diffused in Spain through a magazine called La Abeja which was edited by Antoni Bergnes de las Casas, and published in Barcelona. This may reveal a more important influence of Lamarck's theory on the introduction of evolutionary theories in Spain. La Abeja includes the translation of the Histoire naturelle des végétaux where Lamarck incorporated an early explanation of his theory of evolution; and a series of anonymous articles about the reproduction of living beings, where a more complete explanation about Lamarck's evolutionary theory is contained.
