The health and sanitary institutions in Antillas (1492-1550)

This paper analyze the development of medicine in Antillas during the former years of America's colonization, studying the connection between physicians and quacks, quo the establishment of the protomedicato in Española and Cuba islands. It also deals with general problems about Antilla's hospitals, as its financing means, its philantropical feature and the creation of the main medical centers.
